Answer for My partner wants to tie me up for some bondage play. How should we go about it safely?

A lot depends on how deeply you wish to get into rope bondage.  The first step would obviously be to get some decent rope.  If you’re just experimenting, pretty much any rope will do, and can be picked up at any hardware store.  I would caution strongly against using strings, shoelaces, electrical cords, and other items that people sometimes turn to when improvising. If you find that you enjoy rope play and want to pursue it further, I highly recommend purchasing some high-quality rope from a vendor who specializes in bondage accessories or rope designed for Shibari.  Each type of rope (silk, cotton, jute, hemp, bamboo, synthetic, to name just a few) has unique properties, feels different on the skin, and holds knots differently.  I would also ensure that you brush up on your basic knot-tying.  There are plenty of books and You Tube videos on this subject. I also recommend the “Two Knotty Boys” series of videos for more advance techniques, or just search for Shibari tutorials online.  Lastly, have a safe-word or signal in place that will let you know when all activity must stop, for whatever reason, and constantly monitor your bottom’s breathing and circulation. Never ever leave someone who is tied up alone.
